Melbourne United, originally debuting as the Melbourne Tigers in 1987, has cemented itself as one of the National Basketball League’s (NBL) most celebrated teams. 

Under their original name, the Tigers secured four championships before rebranding as Melbourne United in 2014. Since then, the team has captured the 2018 and 2021 NBL Championships, thrilling home crowds at John Cain Arena with their high energy play. 

The team shares a rich history with Melbourne Park, hosting home games across several iconic venues, including Rod Laver Arena (1992–2000), Margaret Court Arena (2015–16), and John Cain Arena (2000–02, 2012–present). 

Melbourne United’s strong legacy of excellence positions this team as a powerhouse in Australian basketball.
